This site is put together to host various sites that meet the criteria of either a Next Step or a Cool Tool.
Overall, this workshop was useful, but wasn’t necessarily what I had expected. We learned how to determine if what we are doing with technology is effective and the importance of the information being authentic.
In this workshop (and in a few others from yesterday) for getting opinions for discussion we used the online program Poll Everywhere http://www.polleverywhere.com/ . I thought this is a great tool to use in any classroom. Students are able to text, tweet, or go online to answer multiple choice, true false, short answer questions. We also used this to put up ideas that we were discussing about in our small groups to then discuss with the whole group. The posts are anonymous so even the shy students who don’t like raising their hand to ask a question can put up a question or comment they have.
